Job Title: Youth Theatre Coordinator

Mayflower Theatre is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our Engage team as a Youth Theatre Coordinator. This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover role on a 12-month contract.

The successful candidate will facilitate musical theatre sessions with ages 7–18, support our drama strand, and coordinate our Youth Production Arts group. They will also support the wider participation department and work closely with the Youth Team Programme Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery, administration, and evaluation of the Mayflower Youth Theatre (Drama & Musical strands).
  • Facilitate the development of acting and performance skills in our Junior Youth Theatre members.
  • Administer and coordinate our Youth Production Arts programme.
  • Support all Youth Theatre productions and performances.
  • Ensure the safety and security of MYT members, employing First Aid and following Safeguarding procedures as appropriate.
  • Deliver tours, school workshops, and talks.

Requirements:

  • Education to degree level in drama, performing arts, or an arts-based subject or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Experience in facilitating musical theatre programmes with young people.
  • Good administration skills and project co-ordinating arts-based projects with young people.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure with a flexible approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
