Job Overview
">Zoo Keeper for Presentations TeamChester Zoo, located in Cheshire, is seeking a skilled Wildlife Care Specialist to join our Presentations team. This role involves caring for various species, including California sea lions, penguins, flamingos, and more.
">Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily husbandry and training of animals using positive-reinforcement techniques
  • Clean enclosures, prepare diets, record-keeping, and site maintenance
  • Plan and execute environmental enrichment for the animals under your care
  • Deliver educational animal talks and demonstrations to provide memorable experiences for visitors

">Requirements:
  • A minimum of three years' experience working in a zoo environment
  • Demonstrable skills in positive reinforcement training are essential
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • DMZAA or equivalent qualification would be desirable
  • Experience in free-flight bird training and Marine Mammal training is preferable
  • A good understanding and experience in working with a broad range of taxa
  • Ability to stay focused and in control under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in delivering animal talks and demonstrations
