Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Transition Manager to join our team at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. As a key member of our IT Services function, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of all Service Design and Transition activities, processes, systems, and functions to deliver assigned projects from idea to live delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Service Design and Transition frameworks to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Owners and Architects, to design and implement IT services that meet business outcomes.
  • Produce detailed Service Transition plans to manage risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring successful project delivery within time and budget constraints.
  • Interface with 3rd party suppliers to agree on timelines, quality of deliverables, and commercial project milestones.
  • Ensure commercial project milestones are agreed and published, and that invoices are raised with reference to these dates and/or on completion of deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Review project outcomes to determine corrective actions that could be taken to improve future delivery in terms of cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Strong ITIL experience (Foundation level minimum) and Service Management principle understanding.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
  • Major Incident Management experience.
  • Experience in holding supplier/service reviews with external vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and relevant software applications (ITSM toolsets – ideally ServiceNow).
  • Service Management process and lifecycle management experience.
  • Knowledge of modern approaches to Service Management, including automation.
  • Proven skills in matrix management.
  • Highly dynamic approach to task management.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Empathetic – views from a customer perspective.
  • Ability to influence outside of specific area of management, demonstrating the value and encouraging collaboration.
  • Can generate solutions from complex problems.
  • Excellent facilitation ability.
  • Sound commercial acumen.
  • Decisive and calm in a crisis.
