Mental Health Nurse Position in Stoke-on-Trent

Sensible Locums is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to provide exceptional care to patients with mental health conditions in a prestigious private hospital in Stoke-on-Trent. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive and individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments and evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and monitor their effects.
  • Provide support and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Monitor patients' progress and report any changes to the medical team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Promote mental health awareness and advocate for patients' needs.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior nursing staff and nursing students.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance nursing skills.

Requirements:

  • Education: RMN qualification.
  • Licensure: Valid NMC registration.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a mental health setting is essential.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach to care.

Working Conditions:

The estimated salary for this position is £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
