Job Title: Mental Health Nurse Specialist

Sensible Locums is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions in a neurological rehabilitation setting.

Estimated Salary:

£38,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Job Description:
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients' mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications and monitor their effects while maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, promoting a patient-centered approach to care.
  • Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed, ensuring a safe environment for patients.
  • Maintain open communication with the medical team, reporting any changes or concerns regarding patient progress.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure cohesive care.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options, promoting awareness and understanding.
  • Promote mental health awareness and advocate for patients' needs within the hospital setting.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior nursing staff and students, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
