SEMH Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teacher to join our team at a fantastic secondary special school in Totnes. As a SEMH Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic progress of students with complex social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with SEMH difficulties and be able to provide a safe and supportive learning environment. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of each student, and for setting clear, achievable goals to help them build on prior knowledge and make significant progress.
Strong behaviour management skills, patience and resilience are essential for this role, as you will be working with students who may display challenging behaviour. You will also be required to work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
About the SchoolOur school is part of a service founded by experienced SEN teachers, with several independent schools and alternative provisions nationwide. We provide tailored support to students facing complex social, emotional and behavioural challenges, and offer a diverse curriculum that integrates both academic and vocational pathways.

What We're Looking For- A passion for teaching and supporting students with challenging behavioural needs
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred but not essential. You must have GCSEs in English and Maths (grade C or above).
- Experience working with SEN is essential
- Ability to work across different sites if required (all local)
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Strong team player with the ability to build rapport with students, staff and parents
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
