About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teacher to join our team at a fantastic secondary special school in Totnes. As a SEMH Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic progress of students with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with SEMH difficulties and be able to provide a safe and supportive learning environment. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of each student, and for building strong relationships with students, staff and parents.

We are looking for someone who is resilient, patient and able to manage challenging behaviour. You will be part of a dynamic and supportive team that is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people.

About the School

Our school is part of a service founded by experienced SEN teachers, with several independent schools and alternative provisions nationwide. We provide tailored support to students facing complex social, emotional and behavioural challenges, and offer a diverse curriculum that integrates both academic and vocational pathways.

Our school boasts excellent facilities, including food technology labs, motor and construction workshops and a sports hall. We are proud to be a part of a service that is committed to making a difference in the lives of young people.

What We're Looking For
  • A passion for teaching and supporting students with challenging behavioural needs
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred but not essential. You must have GCSEs in English and Maths (grade C or above).
  • Experience working with SEN is essential
  • Ability to work across different sites if required (all local)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Strong team player with the ability to build rapport with students, staff and parents
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
