Job Title: School Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Maintenance Manager to join our team at Veritas Education Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of maintenance and upkeep in our schools.

About the Role

This is a key position within our organization, requiring a strong background in maintenance and facilities management. As a School Maintenance Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and overseeing the school premises, including general maintenance, safety checks, site security, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine maintenance of the school premises, including repairs and minor refurbishments.
  • Perform regular health and safety checks to ensure a safe environment.
  • Manage security for the site, including opening and closing the school and monitoring access points.
  • Supervise and coordinate cleaning staff to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
  • Liaise with external contractors and service providers as necessary.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and issues as they arise.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a school or public building, and possess strong practical skills in areas such as basic plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry. They will also have knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to a school environment, excellent organizational and time-management skills, and a proactive and positive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
