Director of Sales and Marketing

At ASM Global, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Sales and Marketing to join our team at the AO Arena in Manchester. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of the venue.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets across all areas of the AO Arena, including ticketing, premium seating, hospitality, merchandising, and partnerships.
  • Work closely with the Head of Premium Seating and Hospitality to develop and implement the complete sales process, from prospecting strategies to client presentations, negotiations, and contract finalisation.
  • Take full accountability for the Sales and Marketing budget, ensuring efficient spending to achieve business objectives.
  • Research and develop marketing strategies and plans, understanding consumer needs, identifying market trends, and suggesting system improvements to achieve sales and marketing goals.
  • Utilise CRM systems and digital/social platforms to maximise opportunities and deliver a strong return on investment.
  • Oversee all marketing campaigns and promotional activities for the AO Arena, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Monitor and analyse the performance of commercial activities, producing detailed reports for ASM Global's senior management.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and manage sales and marketing teams, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous development.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and motivate teams effectively, driving performance and achieving business goals.
  • Proven track record in driving sales and acquiring new business.
  • Experience in using innovative marketing strategies to increase sales and improve revenue streams.
  • Financial and performance reporting skills: Solid understanding of budgeting processes and performance reporting, with the ability to analyse financials and KPIs.
