Job Title: Linux and Windows Systems Administrator

Job Type: Full-time, 3-6 month contract

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £150-£225 per day

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Systems Administrator to join our team at Applause IT Ltd. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing and supporting Windows environments, Microsoft Office 365, Azure AD, Active Directory, and server infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Windows Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Microsoft Office 365: Manage and support Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Azure Active Directory (AD): Oversee Azure AD, including user and group management, identity protection, and conditional access.
  • Active Directory: Maintain and troubleshoot on-premises Active Directory environments, including Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Windows Autopilot: Implement and manage Windows Autopilot for device provisioning and configuration.
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance: Continuously monitor system performance and take proactive measures to prevent disruptions.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure that all systems are secure and in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • User Support: Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated issues, ensuring quick resolution and excellent customer service.
  • Travel: Travel to regional offices and client sites as necessary to provide on-site support and ensure smooth IT operations.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a Systems Administrator role.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Windows Server, Microsoft Office 365, Azure AD, Active Directory, and Windows Autopilot.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator) are a plus.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel as required.
