About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III to join our Rates Platform Engineering Team at JP Morgan Chase Bank, National Association. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering software solutions that enable the automation of our system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Develop Software Solutions: Execute software solutions, configure automation systems, and design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems.
  • Integrate System APIs: Integrate system APIs where central IT services are used to deliver necessary automation.
  • Secure and High-Quality Production Code: Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain system components.
  • Architecture and Design Artifacts: Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization: Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactive Problem-Solving: Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Community Engagement: Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
  • Culture and Diversity: Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Requirements
  • Software Engineering Concepts: Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient in applied experience.
  • Linux Systems: Hands-on practical experience with Linux systems, their design, development, configuration, testing, and operational stability.
  • Shell Scripting: Proficient in shell scripting e.g., bash, and comfortable operating in a Linux terminal.
  • Code Development and Maintenance: Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with different tools and components used across the full-stack.
  • Software Development Life Cycle: Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Agile Methodologies: Proficient in using agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Source Code Management: Proficient in source code management systems, including git.
  • RedHat Linux: Experience with RedHat Linux.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Windows Development Tools: Experience with Windows development tools like IntelliJ IDEA.
  • Network APIs: Experience with network APIs e.g. REST, OpenAPI.
  • Linux Automation Systems: Experience with Linux automation systems e.g. Ansible.
  • Cloud-Based Technologies: Experience in working with Cloud-based technologies e.g. AWS.
  • Programming Languages: Have experience developing in a language like Python, Java or Smalltalk.
  • Jira Project Management: Familiar with Jira project management tooling.
  • Wiki-Based Documentation: Experience with wiki-based documentation systems e.g. Confluence.
