About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Pharmacist to join our aseptic team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Technical Services team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective and efficient quality assurance of unlicensed aseptic products and providing support for the specialised chemotherapy clinical service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary pharmacist responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement quality management systems to ensure the safe and effective preparation of aseptic products.
  • Provide leadership on all operational quality aspects and ensure that all team members are trained and competent in their roles.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for aseptic services.
  • Collaborate with the wider aseptic team to ensure the smooth running of the aseptic units and the provision of a high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient patient-centred pharmacy service.
Person Specification
  • MPharm Degree (4 years) or equivalent.
  • Member GPhC.
  • Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance (PTQA) Diploma (desirable).
  • Postgraduate clinical diploma (desirable).
  • Non-Medical Prescribing (desirable).
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Experience in Aseptic service and relevant clinical experience.
  • Experience in writing and developing SOPs.
  • Advance practice in one or more area.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience in managing change.
  • Experience in undertaking internal audits.
  • Experience working in clinical trials.

  • Able to prioritise workload and work under pressure.
  • Flexible working.
