Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our dynamic team at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services to patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of Biomedical Scientists and a MLA team leader to perform a range of tasks that contribute to the diagnostic service.
  • Assist with sample handling, preparation, and tracking, as well as consultant support during specimen dissection.
  • Enter patient data accurately and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Person Specification

  • Literacy and numeracy skills to at least GCSE or equivalent level.
  • Experience of dealing with sensitive information and ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow complex procedures and evidence of strong communication skills is desirable.
