Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) teaching assistant to work with pupils who have learning difficulties, behavioural problems, or physical or sensory disabilities. As a SEN teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers to deliver tailored support to meet the unique needs of each child.

  • You will have experience working with SEN children and be able to assess their individual learning needs.
  • You will positively manage challenging behaviour and liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals who work with the children.
  • You will supervise activities and work with teachers to find creative solutions to help children learn.
  • You will work with children in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, providing targeted support to meet their individual needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with SEN children.
  • A strong understanding of child development and learning theories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team and build relationships with colleagues, parents, and carers.
