About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Accommodation team at YMCA Doncaster as a Housing Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our Accommodation Manager to achieve set targets and contribute to the smooth operation of our supported accommodation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Accommodation Manager, including maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with organizational procedures.
  • Rent Collection and Management: Administer supported accommodation rent collection records, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments and addressing any arrears or payment plan issues.
  • Client Support: Meet with clients and applicants to discuss issues related to applications, arrears, payment plans, and other landlord matters, providing excellent customer service and ensuring confidentiality at all times.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Share information about allocations and throughput with the local authority and other specified parties as required, maintaining effective relationships with colleagues, clients, and external professionals.
  • Record Keeping and Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including rent collection records, client information, and performance data, ensuring compliance with data protection arrangements.
  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to the development and maintenance of quality systems, ensuring that all aspects of the accommodation service meet the required standards.
  • Professional Development: Work within the policies and procedures of YMCA Doncaster, contributing to their development and ensuring that all actions are aligned with the organization's Vision and Values.
Person Specification
  • Experience and Skills: Proven experience of managing a varied workload, with strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy when inputting data and creating reports. Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel to a high standard.
  • Business Acumen: A business-like focus, prioritizing maximizing occupancy and rent collection, with a keen eye for detail and an ability to work accurately and at pace where needed.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate well with colleagues, clients, and external professionals with complex needs and/or challenging behaviors.
  • Confidentiality and Discretion: Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate relationships, with a clear understanding of the importance of these in a professional setting.
  • Organizational Culture: Ability to work within the policies and procedures of YMCA Doncaster, contributing to their development and ensuring that all actions are aligned with the organization's Vision and Values.
