Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our North Essex Family Centre team. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering assessment and intervention services to children and families, working closely with our social work teams to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of assessment and targeted intervention work, working with children and families to identify and address their needs.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality social work interventions, including group work and individual support, to promote positive change within families.
  • Work closely with our social work teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration, sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve the best possible outcomes for children.
  • Provide supervision and support to junior social workers, promoting their development and growth within the team.
  • Contribute to the development of our social work practice, sharing your expertise and experience to inform our policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Diploma/MA in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent, and current Social Work England registration.
  • Proven experience of working with children and families, with a strong understanding of child development and the needs of vulnerable children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a relationship-based way, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
  • Experience of giving evidence in court, with a strong understanding of child protection procedures and legislation.
