Job Title: Senior Practitioner – Clacton Family Centre

Essex County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our North Essex Family Centre team. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality social work services to children and families in need.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in social work, working with a dedicated team to make a real difference in the lives of children and families. As a Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of assessment and targeted intervention work, working closely with colleagues and partners to achieve positive outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of assessment and targeted intervention work, working closely with colleagues and partners to achieve positive outcomes for children.
  • Develop and implement effective social work plans, working with children and families to identify and address their needs.
  • Provide supervision and support to junior social workers, promoting their development and well-being.
  • Contribute to the development of the North Essex Family Centre team, sharing your expertise and experience to improve services and outcomes for children and families.
Requirements
  • Diploma/MA in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent and current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience of working in a relationship-based way, with a strong focus on partnership working and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to write high-quality reports and assessments.
  • Experience of giving evidence in court, with a strong understanding of child protection legislation and procedures.
  • Desirable to have a practice educator qualification or experience of supporting and mentoring others, including ASYE's through their first year in practice.
