Job Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the North Essex Family Centre team as a Senior Practitioner. The role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, and practice across a wide range of social work issues and to further develop skills in assessment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of specific targeted intervention work to achieve positive and improved outcomes for children.
  • Bring to bear the highest possible standards of practice ability and skills to work in line with policies and procedures.
  • Develop and share specialist knowledge and skills within the team and across the wider service.
  • Supervise and support the development of other staff and students within the team.
  • Deputise for the manager in their absence.

Requirements

  • Diploma/MA in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent and current Social Work England registration.
  • Ability to work in a relationship-based way and be a supportive team member.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience of giving evidence in court preferable.
  • Desirable to have a practice educator qualification or experience of supporting and mentoring others.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • IT/Word Processing Skills.
  • Recent practice at an experienced social worker level, supported by comprehensive working knowledge and experience within the field of practice in Children Services.
  • Considerable, recent experience of communicating with children of all ages and working in partnership with parents and/or carers.
  • Experience in planning activities and programmes of intervention for children, young people, and parents.
  • Detailed knowledge of current legislation pertinent to Child Protection.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development, relating theory and practice.
