Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced strategic lead to oversee the delivery and transformation of complex information management and governance services within King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of aligned Health Records Strategies and Information Governance Strategies for the Trust, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective information management within budget constraints.

Reporting to the Chief Digital Information Officer, the Director will be a member of the Directorate Senior Leadership Team, responsible for collective decision-making across the Trust.

The role requires a strong understanding of information governance and health records management, as well as experience in leading and managing complex projects and teams.

The ideal candidate will possess an MBA or equivalent management experience, with additional professional training and specialist knowledge in health records management systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing information governance and health records strategies
  • Leading and managing complex projects and teams
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective information management
  • Reporting to the Chief Digital Information Officer and contributing to the Directorate Senior Leadership Team
Main Duties

The Director of Information Governance and Health Records will be responsible for:

  • Operational responsibility for the Data Protection Officer role
  • Directing, leading, and managing the effective delivery of the Information Governance and Management agenda
  • Leading redesign processes and change management to enhance the overall performance of the IG and health records services
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An MBA or equivalent management experience
  • Additional professional training and specialist knowledge in health records management systems
  • Up-to-date knowledge of innovations and developments in health records management systems
  • Management experience at a significant and demonstrable level
  • Senior management experience in Information Governance and Health records management
  • Full line and team management experience, including leading, developing, motivating, coaching, talent management, and application of formal staff
