Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the landfill site, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental permits, and local planning conditions.
- Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a team of staff, including contractors and external partners, to achieve production targets and maintain a safe working environment.
- Contract Management: Organize, plan, and coordinate all aspects of landfill operations, including management of contractors, rail operations, and earthworks.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental permits and incoming waste acceptance criteria.
- Communication: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Hold or be willing to complete the Level 3 inert Landfill WAMITAB Qualification and hold SHE NVQ Level 4.
- Experience: Previous experience managing large earthworks contracts, with a strong background in landfill operations and management.
- Skills: Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage and motivate multiple teams to achieve results.
- Personal Qualities: A proactive, self-motivated approach to tasks, with a high level of commitment to both the success of the site and individual success.
