About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Application Support Specialist to join our team at Deerfoot IT Resources Limited. As a key member of our technical team, you will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to support and enhance critical technologies and processes within the retail and distribution sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and Maintain IT Systems: Ensure that IT systems are operational and up-to-date, providing a stable and efficient environment for business operations.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Technology-Related Issues: Identify and resolve technology-related issues in a timely and effective manner, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
  • Liaise between Technical Teams and Business Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure that technical requirements are met and that business needs are understood.
  • Gather Business Requirements and Translate into Technical Specifications: Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications, ensuring that solutions meet business needs.
  • Identify Opportunities for Technology to Enhance Business Processes: Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for technology to improve efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness.
  • Lead Technology-Driven Initiatives: Lead technology-driven initiatives to improve business operations, working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
  • Assist in the Design and Implementation of Technology Solutions: Assist in the design and implementation of technology solutions, ensuring that they meet business needs and are aligned with company goals.
  • Integrate Modern Technologies into Existing Business Systems and Processes: Integrate modern technologies into existing business systems and processes, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Develop and Deliver Training Programs for End Users: Develop and deliver training programs for end users, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively use technology solutions.
  • Identify and Mitigate Risks Associated with Technology Implementation: Identify and mitigate risks associated with technology implementation, ensuring that solutions are implemented in a secure and controlled manner.
Requirements
  • Strong Appreciation for IT Systems: A strong appreciation for IT systems, software development, data management, and cybersecurity.
  • Solid Understanding of Business Processes and Operations: A solid understanding of business processes and operations, including the ability to analyze and improve business processes.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
