About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Advisor to join our team at South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAMB). As a Health Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for patients calling our 111 service, providing vital support and guidance to those in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide empathetic and effective communication to patients, addressing their concerns and needs.
  • Use the NHS Pathways system to assess and respond to a wide range of situations, from minor illnesses to life-threatening emergencies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery and high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications) at Grade C or above (2018 Grade 4).
  • Previous experience working and communicating with the public, with a strong ability to build rapport and provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to work in a computer-based role.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with a high level of personal commitment to delivering a patient-focused service.

Training and Development

We will provide full training in a warm, friendly environment in our NHS 111 Call Centre. Our comprehensive training programme includes 9 weeks of full-time training, with a 'must' attend policy and no annual leave permitted during this period. The training will cover classroom, observing, and mentoring periods within the working environment, designed to fully support your transition to call handling independently.
