About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Advisor to join our team at South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAMB). As a Health Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for patients calling our 111 service, providing vital support and guidance to those in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide empathetic and effective communication to patients, addressing their concerns and needs.
  • Use the NHS Pathways system to assess and respond to patient situations, from minor illnesses to life-threatening emergencies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless patient care and efficient service delivery.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care and emergency response.
Requirements
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications) at Grade C or above (2018 Grade 4).
  • Previous experience working and communicating with the public, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, remaining calm and composed in high-stress situations.

Training and Development

We provide comprehensive training in a supportive environment, including a 9-week training program with classroom, observing, and mentoring periods. Our training is designed to fully support your transition to call handling independently.

Please note that this role requires working 3 out of 4 weekends, even for part-time positions. We will work with you to create a rota that balances your work and personal life.
