Exceptional Opportunity for a Senior Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at Austen House, a specialist low secure unit in Hampshire.

This is a unique chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people within a supportive environment dedicated to recovery and patient-centred care. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, offering expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adolescents with complex psychiatric needs.

The role provides a balanced focus on direct clinical care and professional development, with 6 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead clinical care, managing complex cases for adolescents within the secure unit, supervising and supporting a multidisciplinary team, promoting best practices and evidence-based care.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to enhance service outcomes.
  • Contribute to service development, providing input on patient pathways and staff training.

Acknowledged Expertise: Full Registration with the General Medical Council, MRCPsych or recognised equivalent, eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview. CCT in general Child and Adolescent psychiatry.

Competitive Salary: £120,000 - £140,000 per annum.
