Key Responsibilities

As the Regional News Director - EMEA & London Bureau Chief, you will oversee the day-to-day responsibilities for all EMEA bureaus and specifically London being the biggest hub. This senior leadership role requires an ability to inspire, influence, and collaborate with all teams across our EMEA locations as well as the broader CNN organisation.

About the Role

This is a high-profile position within the CNN International team, with a focus on delivering high-quality, multi-platform content. You will work closely with the Vice President, EMEA News, and colleagues across CNN International to identify specific priorities for the regions, maintain CNN relations with government officials, local agencies, and the diplomatic world.

Key Duties
  • Serve as the "go-to" person for any escalation issues for the Editorial news teams across EMEA.
  • Experience of integrating digital, newsgathering, and production teams to deliver high-quality multi-platform content.
  • Work with the Vice President, EMEA News, and PR to manage the external reputation of the CNN bureau, ensuring our high editorial standards are maintained.
  • Oversight/management of the network's correspondents based in region.
  • Oversee bureau strategy, cross-departmental workplace/corporate initiatives, specifically in the areas of diversity, inclusion, and gender pay.
  • Support the day-to-day oversight of EMEA teams, showing expert leadership and management support, ensuring ethics and operating practices are best in class.
