Support for Children with Complex Needs

Winner Education is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work one-on-one with a Year 2 child who requires individualized support until the end of the academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Ta to make a lasting difference in a child's life.
About the Child:
The child you will be working with has complex needs and requires individualized support to succeed in the classroom. They may exhibit challenging behavior and require de-escalation techniques to help them feel safe and secure. The ideal candidate will be at least Level 2 trained, experienced in working with children with challenging behavior, and knowledgeable about trauma or completed CPD around trauma.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide individualized support to the child, using de-escalation techniques and adopting an emotion coaching approach to help them feel safe, valued, and capable of succeeding in the classroom. They will work closely with the class teacher to develop and implement strategies to meet the child's unique needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Ta to make a lasting difference in a child's life.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have at least Level 2 training, experience working with children with challenging behavior, and knowledge about trauma or completed CPD around trauma. You should also be proficient in de-escalation techniques and able to adopt an emotion coaching approach to support the child's emotional needs. A calm and empathetic demeanor is essential for this position.
