Lead Computational Biologist

Hlx Life Sciences is seeking a highly accomplished Computational Biologist Lead to join their drug discovery group and contribute to a rapidly expanding pipeline and portfolio of discovery collaborations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in genomics, bioinformatics, and target identification, with a proven track record of delivering strategic direction and execution plans for genomic and informatic approaches to new target discovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for identifying and progressing high-quality targets to initiate new drug discovery projects.
- Collaborate with biologists to identify target-specific validation needs and execute the necessary target validation plan.
- Contribute to translational efforts in support of the development of clinical assets.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Ph.D. in computational biology, genomics, bioinformatics, or a related field with pharmaceutical or biotech experience.
- Experience in identifying therapeutic targets in cancer/oncology areas, based on the evaluation of data.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and growing people.
- Expertise in oncology disease area biology.
