About the Role:
Scotland's Rural College (SRUC) is seeking a skilled Veterinary Disease Investigator to join their Disease Investigation Hub teams in Scotland and Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating animal disease outbreaks, collaborating with farmers and industry partners, and developing innovative solutions for sustainable livestock production.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for veterinary medicine. A competitive salary of £45,000 - £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience, will be offered to the successful candidate.
Main Responsibilities
- Investigate animal disease outbreaks, identifying causes and implementing control measures.
- Collaborate with farmers, industry partners, and other stakeholders to develop effective disease prevention strategies.
- Conduct fieldwork, collecting data and samples to inform disease investigation and research.
- Develop and implement new approaches to disease diagnosis and management.
Requirements:
- Veterinary degree or equivalent qualifications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
