Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Residential Services Director to lead their dedicated team providing comprehensive residential services for young people aged 7-17 with learning disabilities and associated challenging behavior.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the physical, social, and emotional care and development of the residents, while also promoting a culture of equality and inclusion within the service.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social care, with experience in managing residential services and leading teams. They will be able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality care and support, while also promoting the rights and dignity of the young people in their care.

The Residential Services Director will be responsible for:

  • Managing referrals into the service and maintaining full occupancy
  • Developing and implementing a service development plan to ensure high-quality, clinically informed practices
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation in all clinical practices and medication processes
  • Overseeing the adherence to Health and Safety regulations, ensuring safe working practices for all staff
  • Assessing, reviewing, and updating the risks and needs of all children and young people in residence
  • Providing high-quality support and transition services aligned with service specifications and local authority placement plans
  • Upholding professional ethics and behavior among all staff
  • Coordinating service provision, offering support, advice, and coaching to the staff team
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment, ensuring the building is well-maintained, and repair issues are promptly addressed
  • Liaising with regulatory organizations regarding the management of the home
  • Adhering to financial and administrative procedures, working within a set budget
  • Safeguarding children and young people through sound management strategies and collaboration with external agencies
  • Supporting staff in achieving the highest standards of care
  • Assisting in the management, appraisal, supervision, and support of residential staff
  • Coordinating and monitoring casework, administrative functions, and staff rotas
  • Participating in the recruitment, vetting, interviewing, and induction of new staff
  • Being part of an on-call system
  • Managing the Care/Support Workers and Care/Support Assistants within the client's group
  • Developing effective relationships with partners and commissioners, ensuring contract compliance and a positive reputation within the borough
  • Promoting and facilitating a range of inclusion opportunities and activities for children and young people
  • Encouraging and supporting the participation of children and young people in the running of the home
  • Ensuring the home operates in accordance with relevant legislation, standards, and guidance

The Residential Services Director will be a key member of the management team, working closely with the Director of Care and Support Services to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support to the young people in our care.

Please note that this is a full-time, permanent position, and the successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend availability.
