About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in a SEMH School. As a key member of the school community, you will work closely with students who have struggled in mainstream education, helping them re-engage with learning and develop positive behaviours.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with SEMH needs and be committed to providing consistent support in a nurturing environment. You will play a crucial role in helping students manage their emotions and behaviours, implementing effective behaviour management strategies, and collaborating with the wider school team to create a supportive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality support to students with SEMH needs, helping them stay focused and engaged with their learning.
  • Work closely with teachers to adapt activities and deliver lessons that meet the needs of students with SEMH and behavioural difficulties.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and supporting staff.
  • Contribute to creating a positive and productive learning environment, promoting academic achievement and personal growth.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in a SEMH setting.
  • Proven track record of supporting students with SEMH needs, including those with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

The salary for this position is approximately £28,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
