Development Management Office (DMO)

The Development Management Office (DMO) supports Design Engineering, New Site Development, Innovation, Sustainability, and Project Controls teams within the Vantage Development & Engineering (D&E) global organization. The DMO develops standards for business process, documents these standards within an automated project management framework, and manages dashboard-based reporting for the Development & Engineering organization.

The DMO is responsible for design, documentation, and management of the business process flow coordinating the activities of D&E and other teams along the way. The DMO ensures that key stakeholders are engaged in the decision-making process to align project conditions, design goals, and schedule targets to corporate goals. The DMO works to empower each member across teams to drive high-impact decisions and even more impactful results.

Position Overview

This position will lead and participate in projects centered on internal Development project process development and improvement. Functional aspects of these projects include automated toolset development, reporting template development, management of business process standards, and change communication across the organization. This position requires the ability to listen and communicate empathetically with others, the willingness to engage deeply into the understanding of business strategy and vision, and the desire to communicate and connect positively with multiple internal business process owners. This position will work to distill team wants and needs into standardized tangible business process meeting the intent of global corporate goals. This position will also work across external teams to identify and define best practices for interactions with D&E internal teams. Fearless problem-solving and relentless collaboration are requirements for this role. This position will present its own work and the work of our team at key meetings with internal stakeholders as well as to senior leadership.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Develop and refine existing internal project development business process. For process refinements, provide a statement of purpose, process documentation, and definition of reporting metrics with an eye to improving overall internal development process performance.
  2. Work with adjacent teams to define and set in place business process and align on process documentation.
  3. Work with internal process automation management SMEs on input of process data into management systems.
  4. Work cooperatively across regional business and team structures to create overall business process while balancing sometimes contradictory and competing team functions and goals.

Duties

  1. Work closely with teams within the broader Development & Engineering organization to define, document, and improve business processes and team functionality.
  2. Work with internal team toolset developers and IT business partners on documentation and reporting automation.
  3. Partner with the Business Process Improvement team on confirmation and reporting of team KPIs.
  4. Work across D&E team leaders on reporting format design and development.
  5. Partner with cross-functional leaders, including but not limited to Site Selection, New Site Development, Design, Project Controls, Construction, Automation, and Operations, on process mapping and documentation.
  6. Coordinate with team project management leaders on internal initiative data collection and reporting.
  7. Work with a One-Vantage mindset towards a global efficiency model while balancing the need for individual team creativity, team inputs, and operational latitude.
  8. Challenge existing notions of the status quo, always looking for ways to do it better.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor of Arts, Business, or Science degree or equivalent work experience.
  2. Minimum 3-7 years of work experience in business process development with a concentration in project management or business intelligence development preferred.
  3. Experience navigating enterprise project/product lifecycle management concepts and systems.
  4. Exceptional track record of growth and strategic planning, as well as operational results.
  5. Comfort in a fast-paced, matrixed, and entrepreneurial environment.
  6. Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to build, cultivate, and leverage personal and professional networks and relationships, develop, and deliver successful presentations, and collaborate and negotiate effectively.
  7. Experience in the design, construction, and delivery of data centers and infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  8. Leadership experience and style that is transparent and authentic and that demonstrates innovation and creativity.
  9. Able to collaborate across teams to support colleagues and resolve issues.
  10. Enjoy working in a fluid, dynamic organization with a minimal amount of direction.
  11. Travel required is expected to be 5 to 10%.
