Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled practitioner with previous theatre experience to focus on delivering exceptional patient care. As an Ophthalmic Theatre Practitioner, you will be responsible for participating in the entire pathways for patients from pre-admission to post-operative management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake preoperative assessment, diagnostics testing, and theatre scrub under AfPP good practice guidance.
  • Foster a compassionate environment by providing support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Assist surgeons in the delivery of ophthalmic care and admission/discharge of patients.
  • Participate in departmental audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous theatre experience, preferably in ophthalmic scrubbing or related field.
  • Evidence of relevant professional development, including certification RN or ODP with valid registration.
  • Up-to-date knowledge in area of practice and proficiency in using software and systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for delivering first-rate patient safety and care.

Benefits

CHEC offers a competitive salary range of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes opportunities for professional growth and development.
