About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and resourceful Accommodation Support Officer to join our Homelessness Team at New Forest District Council. Your primary focus will be assisting clients facing homelessness in securing safe and suitable accommodation within the private sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of client housing situations, documenting information accurately and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement tailored action plans to help clients achieve their accommodation goals.
  • Proactively source and secure private sector accommodation options for clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords and partner agencies to facilitate successful placements.
  • Provide empathetic and effective support to clients throughout the process, ensuring a positive experience.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to finding solutions.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable individuals and understanding their needs.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality customer service and support.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
