About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced social worker to contribute to our Adoption service, working with children, young people, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough and timely assessments of prospective adoptive applicants, ensuring all information and reports are accurately recorded and completed in line with Directorate and legislative policies.
  2. Engage directly with parents, carers, and children, using appropriate methods to inform the assessment and planning process, ensuring their views are heard and responded to supportively.
  3. Represent our children, adopters, and adoption service professionally at adoption panels and court hearings, collaborating effectively with applicants, adopters, colleagues, and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children.
  4. Have a deep understanding of the lifelong impact of children's early life experiences and their long-term needs, as well as knowledge of the legal framework relating to adoption and experience in therapeutic parenting and attachment theory.
  5. Hold a degree in Social Work, a valid Social Work England Registration, and at least two years of post-qualification experience, with a driving licence and car.
