About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced social worker to contribute to our Adoption service, working with children, young people, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough and timely assessments of prospective adoptive applicants, ensuring all information and reports are accurately recorded and completed in line with Directorate and legislative policies.
- Engage directly with parents, carers, and children, using appropriate methods to inform the assessment and planning process, ensuring their views are heard and responded to supportively.
- Represent our children, adopters, and adoption service professionally at adoption panels and court hearings, collaborating effectively with applicants, adopters, colleagues, and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children.
- Have a deep understanding of the lifelong impact of children's early life experiences and their long-term needs, as well as knowledge of the legal framework relating to adoption and experience in therapeutic parenting and attachment theory.
- Hold a degree in Social Work, a valid Social Work England Registration, and at least two years of post-qualification experience, with a driving licence and car.
