Test and Commissioning Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Test and Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Critical Maritime Systems & Support Limited in Portsmouth. As a key member of our CMS2 team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality testing and commissioning services for our air purification equipment.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Set up, configure, and test complex process equipment to ensure compliance with customer standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Perform pneumatic and hydraulic pressure testing of high- and low-pressure vessels under PED compliance.
  3. Conduct electrical testing, including low and high voltage circuits, insulation resistance, and earth bond testing, using oscilloscopes to capture analogue and digital signals.
  4. Identify and troubleshoot electro-mechanical system faults, implementing solutions to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  5. Develop and refine test methodologies, including prototyping, to enhance the quality and reliability of our equipment.
  6. Maintain an issues log to track lessons learned and support continuous improvement.
  7. Travel to various sites across the UK to support the Nuclear Program and occasionally abroad to assist overseas customers.
  8. Adhere to 5S practices and ensure compliance with our ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
About You
  1. You will hold an NVQ/HNC or higher qualification in engineering or a relevant apprenticeship.
  2. Previous experience in test and commissioning, particularly in a highly regulated industry, is preferred.
  3. You will demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety, environment, and quality.
  4. You will be able to read and interpret process engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  5. You will possess good hands-on electrical and mechanical skills.
  6. You will be able to work efficiently as part of a team and under pressure in a challenging environment.
  7. You will have excellent attention to detail and be flexible, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
  8. You will be willing to travel occasionally, sometimes with short notice.

Please note that you must meet the requirements to pass a BPSS check and undergo a security clearance (SC) check. You must have an existing right to live and work in the UK and normally need at least 5 years' UK residency to gain SC clearance.
