We are in search of a Test & Commissioning Engineer to enhance our dynamic team at Critical Maritime Systems & Support Limited. This role presents an exceptional chance to contribute to a progressive team dedicated to delivering innovative engineering solutions and tailored manufacturing systems.

Key Responsibilities

The Test & Commissioning Engineer will play a crucial role within our specialized engineering solutions division, focusing on the development of life-support systems for critical environments, oxygen and carbon capture technologies, water purification systems, rugged electronics for extreme conditions, and precision engineering of high-integrity apparatus.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Configuring, testing, and commissioning complex process equipment.
  • Conducting pneumatic and hydraulic pressure tests on high- and low-pressure vessels in compliance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
  • Performing electrical testing on low and high voltage (3 phase) circuits, including insulation resistance and earth bond testing, utilizing oscilloscopes for signal capture.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems.
  • Enhancing test methodologies through innovative approaches and prototyping.
  • Maintaining a log of issues for continuous improvement and lessons learned.
  • Traveling to various locations to support national programs.
  • Occasionally traveling internationally to assist overseas clients.
  • Ensuring adherence to 5S practices and compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess an NVQ/HNC or higher qualification in engineering or relevant apprenticeship (e.g., BEng, MEng, HND).
  • Demonstrated experience in testing and commissioning within a highly regulated sector is preferred.
  • Strong dedication to health, safety, environmental standards, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and procedural documents.
  • Proficient in hands-on electrical and mechanical tasks.
  • Capable of working effectively within a team and under pressure in demanding situations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, sometimes on short notice.
