We are in search of a Test & Commissioning Engineer to enhance our expanding CMS2 division. This role presents an excellent chance to contribute to a progressive team focused on delivering cutting-edge solutions and custom engineering systems.

Position Summary

The Test & Commissioning Engineer role is integral to our specialized engineering solutions sector, where we design life-support systems for critical environments, develop oxygen and carbon capture technologies, implement water purification systems, and create rugged electronics suitable for extreme conditions.

The primary responsibility of the Test & Commissioning Engineer will be to ensure the testing and commissioning of CMS2's air purification systems meet the highest standards of quality, adhering to company protocols, customer specifications, and regulatory guidelines. Key responsibilities include:

  • Configuring, testing, commissioning, and maintaining complex process systems.
  • Conducting pneumatic and hydraulic pressure tests on high- and low-pressure vessels in compliance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
  • Performing electrical testing on low and high voltage (3 phase) circuits, including insulation resistance and earth bond testing, utilizing oscilloscopes for signal analysis.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems.
  • Enhancing test methodologies and increasing efficiency through innovative prototyping.
  • Maintaining a log of issues for continuous improvement and lessons learned.
  • Traveling to various locations to support national programs.
  • Occasionally traveling internationally to assist overseas clients.
  • Complying with 5S practices and ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess an NVQ/HNC or higher qualification in engineering or a relevant engineering apprenticeship (e.g., BEng, MEng, HND).
  • Have prior experience in test and commissioning within a highly regulated sector, preferably in process engineering.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety, environmental standards, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and procedural documents.
  • Exhibit strong hands-on electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Capable of working effectively within a team and under pressure in a demanding environment.
  • Show exceptional attention to detail.
  • Be flexible, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, sometimes on short notice.
