We are in search of a skilled Test & Commissioning Engineer to enhance our expanding CMS2 division. This role presents an excellent chance to be part of an innovative team dedicated to developing unique engineering solutions and manufacturing specialized systems.

Position Summary

The Test & Commissioning Engineer will play a vital role within our bespoke engineering solutions sector, focusing on the creation of life-support systems in critical environments, oxygen and carbon capture technologies, water purification systems, rugged electronics for challenging conditions, and precision engineering of high-integrity apparatus.

The primary responsibility of the Test & Commissioning Engineer will be to ensure the testing and commissioning of CMS2's air purification systems meets the highest standards of quality, adhering to company protocols, customer expectations, and regulatory guidelines. Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting up, configuring, testing, commissioning, and maintaining complex processing equipment.
  • Conducting pneumatic and hydraulic pressure tests on high- and low-pressure vessels in compliance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
  • Performing electrical testing on low and high voltage (3 phase) circuits, including insulation resistance and earth bond testing, utilizing oscilloscopes to capture both analogue and digital signals.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems.
  • Striving to enhance and improve testing methodologies, including prototyping.
  • Maintaining a log of issues for lessons learned to support ongoing improvement efforts.
  • Traveling to various locations to support national programs.
  • Occasional international travel to assist overseas clients.
  • Complying with 5S practices and the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess an NVQ/HNC or higher qualification in engineering or relevant engineering apprenticeship (e.g., BEng, MEng, HND).
  • Prior experience in testing and commissioning within a highly regulated industry is preferred (e.g., process engineering).
  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, environmental standards, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and procedural documents.
  • Strong practical skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Capable of working effectively within a team and under pressure in demanding environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, sometimes at short notice.
