Position Overview

The role of the Commissioning and Testing Engineer is integral to our bespoke engineering solutions division, where we focus on creating life-support systems for critical environments, including oxygen and carbon capture solutions, water purification technologies, rugged electronics for extreme conditions, and precision engineering of high-integrity equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, test, and maintain complex process equipment.
  • Conduct pneumatic and hydraulic pressure testing of vessels in compliance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
  • Perform electrical testing on low and high voltage circuits, including insulation resistance and earth bond testing, utilizing oscilloscopes for signal capture.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems.
  • Enhance testing methodologies and efficiency through innovative approaches.
  • Maintain a log of issues for continuous improvement and lessons learned.
  • Travel to various locations to support national programs.
  • Occasional international travel to assist global clients.
  • Adhere to 5S practices and comply with ISO 9001 Quality Management System standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess an NVQ/HNC or higher qualification in engineering or a relevant apprenticeship (BEng, MEng, HND, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience in testing and commissioning within a regulated industry is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, environmental standards, and quality assurance.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and procedural documents.
  • Proficient hands-on electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Capable of working effectively in a team and under pressure in a demanding environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, sometimes at short notice.
