We are seeking a skilled Test and Commissioning Engineer to join our team at CMS2 - Critical Maritime Systems & Support in Portsmouth. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative solutions for manufacturing bespoke engineering systems.

The Role

This position involves providing testing and commissioning of CMS2's air purification equipment to the highest quality standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting up, configuring, and testing complex process equipment.
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic pressure testing of high- and low-pressure vessels under PED compliance.
  • Electrical testing of low and high-voltage circuits, insulation resistance, and earth bond testing.
  • Fault finding, diagnosis, and problem-solving of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Developing and improving test methodologies, including prototyping.
  • Maintaining an issues log for lessons learned and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Traveling to various sites across the country to support the UK Nuclear Program.
  • Occasional travel abroad to support overseas customers.

About You

  • You should hold an NVQ/HNC or higher qualification in engineering or an apprenticeship in a relevant field.
  • Previous test and commissioning experience in a highly regulated industry is preferred.
  • You should have a strong commitment to health and safety, environment, and quality.
  • You should be able to read and interpret documents such as process engineering drawings and specifications.
  • You should have good hands-on electrical and mechanical skills.
  • You should be able to work efficiently as part of a team and under pressure in a challenging environment.
  • You should have excellent attention to detail.
  • You should be flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to work well under your own initiative.
