Job Summary

This is a permanent, full-time position located in Southwestern Ontario. The successful candidate will work as part of the Indigenous Cancer Care Unit, situated in the Indigenous Tobacco Program. They will be responsible for developing and implementing interventions to address commercial tobacco, cannabis, and vaping cessation, prevention, and protection among Indigenous communities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and implement evidence-based commercial tobacco, cannabis, and vaping cessation, prevention, and protection strategies
  • Collaborate with Regional Cancer Programs to deliver programming initiatives
  • Liaise with Indigenous communities, organizations, and stakeholders to identify First Nations, Inuit, Métis, and urban Indigenous role models/leaders who can champion commercial tobacco, cannabis, and vaping cessation, prevention, and protection
  • Develop age-appropriate prevention and cessation activities for Indigenous youth
  • Work with the Measure, Monitor, and Evaluation team to design and track evaluation frameworks


Requirements

  • Master's degree in social sciences or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Extensive experience working with Indigenous communities and people
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial government policies and funding envelopes
  • Ability to speak/understand an Indigenous language (an asset)
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Valid Class G driver's license with a good driving record
