Opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor - Environment

Galliford Try is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in a dynamic environment. As a key member of our commercial operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage subcontract documentation, including negotiation of terms and conditions, prices, and programme.
  • Oversee subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management.
  • Produce and issue all commercial notices as required.
  • Manage change in accordance with the form of contract.
  • Produce and agree monthly applications.
  • Collaborate with operational and engineering staff to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed 'Cost to Complete'.
  • Interpret expenditure reports to inform business decisions.
  • Attend progress and early warning meetings to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Apply principles of maximizing value and profit to drive business growth.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Civil Engineering Environment working for a main contractor.
  • Professional Qualification or equivalent.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Experience in commercial management and procurement.
  • Exposure on large schemes.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Good stakeholder management and communication capabilities.
  • Knowledge of construction processes.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Professional qualification such as MCICES or MRICS.
