Job Summary:

We are seeking a Psychological Support Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with children and young people, providing specialist care and support. The role will involve assessing and consulting with children and young people, formulating therapeutic plans and delivering training to residential staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and consult with children and young people to identify their needs and develop therapeutic plans
  • Carry out direct work with children and young people, using trauma-informed approaches
  • Deliver training and provide advice to residential staff on how to best support children in their care
  • Work closely with the Clinical Lead and Associate Clinical Director, as well as other Qualified Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Creative Therapists and Psychotherapists

Requirements:

  • Doctorate level degree in Clinical, Counselling, Forensic or Educational Psychology
  • Full HCPC registration without conditions
  • UK Driving Licence and access to own car is essential
  • Clear and enhanced DBS
  • Experience working with children and young people within CAMHS, residential or specialist education settings
  • Good understanding of residential care, trauma-informed practice and multidisciplinary working
