About the Role

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join their team at the Leeds Haemophilia Centre. The successful candidate will have a strong background in psychological assessment and treatment, with experience working in physical health settings and medical teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide specialist psychological support to patients and families affected by contaminated blood products;
  • To work closely with the multi-disciplinary team in the Leeds Haemophilia Centre, collaborating with psychologists, doctors, and nurses to deliver high-quality patient care;
  • To develop and implement tailored therapeutic plans for patients, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances;
  • To contribute to the development and evaluation of the Infected Blood Psychological Service, ensuring best practices are implemented across the organization;
Requirements
  • A postgraduate doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology;
  • Experience working in medical settings, preferably in physical health environments;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and patients;
  • The capacity to work autonomously and as part of a team, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop creative solutions;
Salary and Benefits

This role comes with a competitive salary band 8A (or preceptorship band 7) and a range of excellent benefits, including on-site facilities, staff training programs, and opportunities for professional development. Estimated salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
