Leeds, Leeds, United Kingdom Axcis Education Recruitment Full time

Axcis Education Recruitment is excited to partner with an outstanding special school in South Gloucestershire, a well-established and vibrant learning environment, to offer an exciting opportunity for a Psychology Graduate to join their diverse team as an SEN Support Assistant.

This role provides the ideal chance for a recent graduate or someone looking to transition into the field of Special Educational Needs (SEN) support, where you can apply your knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with special educational needs.

The school boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including sensory rooms, sensory gardens, and accessible learning spaces designed to support students' development and well-being. As an SEN Support Assistant, you will be part of a dedicated team that provides tailored education to students with a wide range of special educational needs, including autism, moderate and severe learning difficulties, and physical disabilities.

As a Psychology Graduate, you will bring a strong understanding of developmental psychology and SEN-related conditions, which will enable you to effectively support students' academic and social progress. The role also offers opportunities to gain experience of working directly with students, which can be beneficial for those looking to enter fields such as Educational Psychology or teaching.

If you have a strong desire to make a positive impact in the lives of students with special educational needs, this role may be the perfect fit for you.

The successful candidate will receive specialised training in SEN support, including Autism Awareness, Behaviour Management, Mental Health First Aid, Team Teach, and Makaton, as well as access to over 400 specialist online courses to develop their skills and knowledge.

Our client offers a competitive salary of £18,000 - £22,000 per annum, depending on experience, and opportunities for career development and progression within the company. We are an equal opportunities employer and as such, we do not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race, or any other equal opportunities criteria.

If you are a passionate and dedicated individual looking to make a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs, please don't hesitate to apply for this exciting opportunity.
