Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Defence Infrastructure Project Lead to join our busy and expanding Defence Infrastructure, Project Management business.

The successful candidate will support our clients in delivering a range of projects and programmes across the UK, with emphasis but not restricted to the South East & West of England.

Main Purpose of Role:

  • To lead project management commissions, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery.
  • To provide support on major project management commissions, taking responsibility for an aspect of service delivery.
  • To ensure that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.
  • To support clients in transitioning to Net Zero and dealing with wider changes to make themselves more sustainable.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To prepare and maintain definitions of project requirements.
  • To help establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical, and performance parameters.
  • To establish effective project governance, processes, and systems to be utilized throughout the project.
  • To prepare and maintain schedules of activity, including producing the master project plan.
  • To manage the development of the project in accordance with approved plans and targets.
  • To develop and implement resource plans and procure resources.
  • To lead and facilitate the overall cross-functional project team.
  • To monitor and apply performance management techniques.
  • To manage the change control process.
  • To develop and agree budgets and control forecast and actual costs against them.
  • To manage the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
  • To identify and monitor project risks and plan and implement risk mitigations.
  • To prepare formal project progress and other reports.
  • To take a leading role in interfacing with the client, other consultants, and managing stakeholders at all project stages.
  • To advise the client regarding Health & Safety and Environmental issues and risks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in a construction-related subject.
  • PREFERRED IF CHARTERED/QUALIFIED WITH ICE, APM, RICS ETC.
  • PREFERRED IF NEC / FIDIC COMMERCIAL EXPERIENCE.
  • PREFERRED IF EXPERIENCE IS IN A COMPLEX STAKEHOLDER ENVIRONMENT.
