About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Security Technician to join our team at the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO). As a key member of our Security Services Group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our defence sites and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic security systems
  • Providing technical assistance and support to customers
  • Conducting checks and audits on customer systems
  • Accurately estimating costs of materials and labour needed for minor works

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in electrical or electronic engineering or equivalent
  • Experience working with electronic security systems
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail

Working Environment

You will be working as part of a 230-person team, providing full life support services to UK Defence and Government sites throughout the UK and overseas. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of technically sophisticated projects, protecting UK Defence and Government sites.

Language

This role requires fluency in English.

Security Clearance

You will be expected to achieve the higher Developed Vetting security clearance level.

Travel

You will be expected to travel regularly, both within the UK and overseas.

Working Hours

You will be contracted to work 37 hours a week, typically between 08:00-16:00.

Relocation

This post does not offer relocation expenses.

Probation

External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
