Job Description:

As a Senior Design Director at EngineeringUK, you will lead the design of innovative payments experiences that delight our customers. You will be responsible for developing and communicating the user experience design vision for multiple products across platforms, and guiding a team of designers to create useful, usable, and desirable products.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and communicate the user experience design vision for multiple products across platforms
  2. Lead a team of designers to create useful, usable, and desirable products
  3. Guide teams to understand customers and their needs through market analysis, customer research, and feedback
  4. Coach a team of designers to use business requirements to assist in developing use cases and high-level requirements
  5. Support the design team with planning, prioritizing, and overseeing initiatives; manage projects; ensure that all designs are executed on time and at the highest quality levels
  6. Collaborate with senior leaders from Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Experience in design
  2. Experience leading design teams
  3. Experience managing teams
  4. Experience with a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, Axure, and Dreamweaver
  5. Experience working cross-team and synthesizing feedback and input from product management, engineering, testing, and marketing
  6. Experience leading design teams in problem definition, artifact rendering, cross-functional collaboration and delivery, and user validation and measurement
  7. Experience shipping innovative, successful consumer products
  8. Knowledge of user experience principles and techniques
  9. Demonstrated ability managing ambiguity and leading complex projects from concept (including user research) to delivery and ongoing improvement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Experience with agile/scrum
  2. Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and interaction design, user-centered design process
  3. Experience leading design in the financial services industry and/or for regulated products
