Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Hyndburn

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support assistant to join our school's thriving SEN team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualized support to children with special educational needs, working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to children with SEN, adapting to their individual needs and requirements.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with the delivery of intervention sessions, including small group and one-to-one work.
  • Contribute to the creation of a stimulating and safe learning environment, promoting inclusivity and respect for all students.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, keeping them informed of their child's progress and needs.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of strategies to support students with SEN.

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or above relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting children or young adults with SEN, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Enhanced DBS check and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances.
