Job Title: Intervention Teaching Assistant - KS1

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate teaching assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As an Intervention Teaching Assistant - KS1, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of primary students in need of additional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build Relationships: Establish strong relationships with students to ensure they engage with the curriculum and their learning.
  • Nurturing Approach: Adopt a calm and nurturing approach to create a positive learning environment for students.
  • Lesson Planning: Collaborate with the Class Teacher and other professionals to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of diverse learners.
  • Curriculum Understanding: Work alongside the KS1 Curriculum to ensure a deep understanding of age expectations.
  • Differentiated Learning: Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with additional needs and those who require extra support.
  • Professional Development: Be willing to upskill yourself through continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Safeguarding: Commit to the safeguarding of all pupils, adhering to school policies and participating in regular safeguarding training.
  • Progress Monitoring: Ensure the progress of students is recorded to provide feedback to children, parents, and the Class Teacher.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Have an understanding of the KS1 National Curriculum.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Behaviour Management: Have effective behaviour management strategies in place.
  • DBS Certificate: Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service.
  • Experience: Have experience supporting students with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
